She developed cancer in her eye and had to have it removed, but later they found it had spread despite their attempts to get rid of it. About a year later she passed away from it. Through the whole thing though she remained very strong and continued to do the best she could for my sister and I. (We were raised by my grandparents) Even though she had lost an eye and had lost her hair when she went through chemo, she remained a strong and determined individual. She taught me that no matter what life throws at you, you can't let it get the best of you. posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.05.04 (11:42 am) Reply to: DRAMA Hey, i know what you mean, been there too. posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.05.04 (11:42 am) Reply to: BeachsidePrep Wow, thats definitely inspirational :) posted by: Chewy2075 (reply) post date: 08.05.04 (12:25 pm) well theres really 2 things. One for sure was back when I used to lifeguard in Texas. A little boy was drowning and I saved his life. Brought him back with some CPR (sort of a gruesome episode)...and it gave me a real wake-up and understanding of the value that our lives each hold. His parents were so on edge when they noticed what was happening...surreal moment never to be forgotten. Another one for me would be after a near-death experience I had a couple of years ago. (Might blog on this one some time...been mulling it over in my mind.) It happened to me in a strange way and before I knew what was happening I was in a hospital dying, bleeding internally. I lost almost 4 litres of blood and the story is actually more gorey than that...suffice it to say, that making it out alive, waking up after the anesthesia'd worn off a bit was pretty amazing. Granted I felt like hammered dogshit, but I was alive. It gave me a new lease on my life...newer faster, stronger, more serious goals and priorities. And ever since then, I see my world in a more colourful way, foods taste better to me, and generally I'm just a smiling and happy individual. posted by: alceri (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (1:43 am) Reply to: SheSpecies grrrreat one! posted by: alceri (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (1:43 am) but wait! another inspiration, though not the best would be my batchmate robert rome, [pronounced as roh-meh] he's just 14 or 15yrs old... he caught an accident last july 27 while crossing the street... and passed away last august 3, :( he was in the ICU for one week... its just implying that life is too short to waste time... better yet live your days as if it were your last... like robert, who didn't even know that he was gonna pass away... but he's now in paradise... :) he was not my classmate, i'm familiar with him, but i don't know if he knows me... he was such a jolly person, even if he has so much problems at home... he taught so many people how to love persons they do not know... how to share their graces to others and how to pray for others, not just for themselves or the people they know... posted by: Cyberpal (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (3:56 am) Reply to: blondebondgirl I'm still waiting to read your answer sweetie :-P posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (5:32 am) Reply to: SheSpecies wow, that's extremely touching :) posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (5:32 am) Reply to: alceri that's awesome. :) posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (5:33 am) Reply to: Cyberpal hahaha its coming, its coming... posted by: dteng118 (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (5:47 am) LOL hallo'zzzzzzzz u have a wiken Tblog by the way... umm.. in answer to ur question.. i think the most inspiration person in my life would have to be my mother... i mean yeah she did discipline when i was young.. but i realli thank her for that.. because it turned me into the person i am today... Also because our family is Christian.. my father actually stopped going to church when i was seven and my mother still kept going clinging onto hope.. and i realli admire my mother for that.. because my family kinda broke apart when my father stopped coming to church.. my dad kinda wasn't as close as he use to be with me, my brother.. my sister.. and my mother was like always stuck in between.. there are so many things my mother has done for me.. to bring me up.. to giving me the best advice eva.. she's a hero in my eyes posted by: dteng118 (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (5:48 am) don't bother about the tbucks either.. posted by: rainbow (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (7:10 am) the most inspiring thing in my life are my friends. Those have definitely touched my life in a special way and helped to sculpt how and what I do with my energy and time...I realise that in a large way we each effect so much of the world around us whether we care to recognise it or not. Life should never be taken for granted. posted by: SheSpecies (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (12:11 pm) Reply to: alceri Thank you so much. I enjoyed yours as well. :-) posted by: billlyryan (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (5:16 pm) I wish I could say it was a person or family but I can't. I don't really know. It's just been this thing inside me knowing there's something better planned for me. But now that I think about it, no one can do EVERYTHING alone....maybe it was the social worker who taught me how to swim, play baseball and row a canoe.... Maybe it was the first time I learned about Australia and fell in love with it... Dangit. I need to name one thing! So many choices for me...Now I gotta go think about it... posted by: readitandweep (reply) post date: 08.06.04 (6:20 pm) my husband and baby. when things get tough i look at them (and to them) and see the reason. posted by: beavsgrl (reply) post date: 08.08.04 (12:33 am) My Mom. My Dad too. Together, they've shown me what true love means. Together, they've proven to me that love can withstand the worst life has to throw at you. Separetly...my Mom has shown me how to stay strong even when all you wanna do is give up and die. My Dad has shown me that true love can endure anything. =o) posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.08.04 (11:08 am) Reply to: beavsgrl That's really awesome! posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.08.04 (11:08 am) Reply to: billlyryan I know, there's so much! posted by: HEAVENLYSHADES (reply) post date: 08.08.04 (11:39 am) dont really need the tbucks but ill give you my insight anyway.. Two things that inspire me: the first is my son of course, he is my motivation in everything i do in my life; from waking up in the morning to go to work to the time i get home and look forward to seeing his face. When it comes to matters of the heart..well..its the one who I write about on here almost every day.. posted by: blondebondgirl (reply) post date: 08.08.04 (9:27 pm) Reply to: HEAVENLYSHADES very cool.... :) |
